Not your average internship
We are seeking a Masters-level intern whose academic work focuses on environmental impact assessments in relation to the renewable energy sector. Candidates will be familiar with the methods used to predict environmental impacts. They will be able to evaluate how these may be used to integrate environmental factors into decisions and permits relating to renewable energy schemes.
Research will focus on the current environmental impact assessment regime and what this requires of companies operating in the renewables sector – offshore and onshore wind, solar, hydro, wave and tidal power. The intern will also be asked to consider how environmental impact assessments may be going to evolve and how their evolution could be informed by research into biodiversity across marine and terrestrial habitats and species.
The MW TOPS ESG team has run a successful internship and externship programme since 2020 through which we have benefitted from the expertise of postgraduate students who have been able to enhance our work on specific themes.
Work will be paid and there is the possibility of help with academic funding and full-time roles being offered to exceptional candidates.
